Unfortunately the Proud Boys have found our area and have already come to Fall River to protest Drag Story Hour. The Network has a Drag Story Hour scheduled for 1/14/23 in Taunton and we expect to have protesters. We ask those who stand with us in this struggle (and stand against this we must for we know what happens when good people stay silent) to join with us in peaceful, nonviolent, non-confrontational approaches. We ask that those who stand with us in the street (and let me remind you the time is now) to join in this training in the classroom.

Andy Pollock
South Coast LGBTQ+ Network
Due to rising safety concerns regarding protesting at LGBTQ+ events across the nation and recently in our communities, the South Coast LGBTQ+ Network is offering a de-escalation training for members, volunteers, employees, and program participants. The priority is safety for our community and the community at large.
The South Coast LGBTQ+ Network maintains that engagement with individuals outside our events is not productive and may escalate negative behavior. However, we want to provide an opportunity to increase awareness of our surroundings and learn de-escalation techniques in the event we may find ourselves in a challenging, threatening, or confrontational situation.
This training will be January 7th from 9 am to noon at Groundwork. The address is 1213 Purchase St., New Bedford, MA. Please use the side entrance on Maxfield Street.
Please let us know if you are able to attend.
Thank You
