Democrats seem resigned to a rematch of Biden vs. Trump. But a lot has happened in four years, and Joe Biden hasn't gotten any younger or any more popular. In fact, both sets of his numbers are cause for alarm.
While we wait for alternatives to announce their candidacies — and long before the first real caucuses or state primaries — I've "nominated" some alternatives and placed them on a Ranked Choice Democratic Presidential Primary Ballot.
There you'll find a list of more than 30 candidates, with a few governors and some of the Senate leadership thrown in for good measure. If you wonder about the politics of some of these people, you can check the Senate Report Cards for 2020 - Ideology Score - All Senators - GovTrack.us
And if you don't see your first choice on the ballot, just add your own candidate.
A ballot like the one above will appear with a randomized list of candidates. Delete any you would never, ever vote for, then re-order the remaining candidates with your top choice at the top, your last choice at the bottom, and all others ranked accordingly in the middle.
There are alternatives and the results so far have been interesting (just click on the Results tab to see the current tabulations).
